If It Can Go Wrong, It Will!

It has been one of those weeks where if it can go wrong, it shall go wrong.

We started to notice our toilet in the master bedroom making a funny noise. Sort of a glub, glub and bubbles coming up, where everything should be going down. Ya'll get what I'm talking about, right? First concern, need a new toilet. Naw, that can't be it, this one is only 2 years old. Other concern, it could be our septic. Yep, we live where there is not a sewer, but a septic.

At this point, most people would say, no big deal. You call the septic company, they send someone out and they open the tank and clean it out. (Not a job for the faint of heart, or someone with a strong sense of smell!) Most people could do that unless the location of your tank looks like ours:

Yes, under all of that is our septic tank. So, while I was in Colorado, my wonderful husband, by himself, started to dig.

And Dig....

I will spare you the photo of what it looked like when they removed the lid. Yes, he did send me a photo of it. And yes, it was full! So, after they cleaned, and cleaned and cleaned it some more, we are now toilet noise free.
And as for our brick paver patio? Refer back to photo 1. Photo 1 is actually the "after" photo anyway. He didn't think to take a "before" photo because I already knew what it looked like!
The moral of this story is that all of our, you know what, has to go somewhere!
